it's barely making it. I see about 1.2GB - 1.4GB for many games, and I don't even use AA (since the u2711 is one of the highest PPI desktop monitors), so... it's okay, but I don't play much, anymore For the longest time, I had a HD5770 1GB drive this panel, and it fared okay in SC2. But I have seen SC2 go over 1GB before, too.
nVidia's 280.19 beta driver FINALLY fixed the high idle bug with 2560x1440 monitors My GTX580 used to idle at 405MHz (checked almost every driver revision in hope), now it idles properly at 50MHz
But yeah, my GTX580 + U2711 heat my room up like none other
I ask because I have read that a GTX580 can downclock to 51Hz at 2560x1600.
Can any GTX580 + U3011 user confirm this?
