Need a Budget Card Recommendation for Budget Gaming

Thread Starter
I'm building something with a i3 2100 in it and I need a gpu. My budget is for the gpu is $70 and I need some recommendations. I want to keep this low as possible since not only is this a budget build, I'm only keeping this build for about 1.5 years before I give it to my parents. I don't think my mom is going to be playing starcraft 2.

I'm planning to do the usual multitask of having firefox, itunes, and a game client up.

I'm going to play starcraft2, dota2, and diablo3 on it.

at first I thought about getting a 5570 since that's still ALRIGHT for my needs, but I want to see what are better options.

I don't mind going for something used (someone please recommend me something USED or REFURB under the budget). Any good suggestions? I just want the best amount of performance for the budget I have.

Actually the Core i3 2120 has a fairly strong iGPU (Intel 3000) and is a bit quicker than the i3 2100 - i'll throw some recommendations in here in just a minute

Nvidia GTS 450: http://www.overclock.net/video/10655...s-450-fpb.html - $80

otherwise retail your looking at an AMD 5670, Nvidia 440/430

You could probably swing a used 5770 from here. That will require pci power from your psu.

I concur. A used 5770/450 is your best bet. I've used both, and both are great budget cards for 1440-1680.

This 4870 for $75 isn't half bad either.

Core i3 graphics stink for games like Left 4 Dead 2, it plays hella better on an old 9500gt.

Intel HD graphics are only good for the 2500k,2600k.

Get a Used HD 5770 ... its an awesome card. I used both the GTS 450 and HD 5770. GTS 450 isn't that good, and I was able to play more games at higher settings using the HD 5770.
