OC'ing Intel HD 3000 graphics

Thread Starter
I have a Z68 board, and I would like to overclock the onboard graphics, but can't figure out how.

I have tried messing with the "Internal Graphics Clock" setting in the Bios, but no matter what I change it to, CPU-Z still reads it running at 850 MHz.

I have heard this overclocks very well, has anyone tried this on a Z68 board with discreet graphics? Is it even possible?

Doesn't it suppose to reach 1.35GHz when at load?
or I'm misunderstanding max Dynamic freq meaning.

Ok that makes a little more sense. I don't think I've ever gotten it under load yet because I'm using a discreet card. I guess the Internal Graphics Clock setting is just what it jumps to under load.

Yeah, I think it works just like the main CPU with Speedstep, C-Stats, etc. Downclocks until under load. Though not sure, don't have a board to test it with.
I honestly don't think you should bother. WHat are you trying to do with it actually, that requires overclock?

That card gives 1FPS on any less than 5 year old game, overclocking could raise that to max 2FPS

I couldn't even play Minecraft with my Intel 3000. That's saying something. Putting a cheap all passive card in my rig fixed that.

That's strange then.

Minecraft runs fine, even on Clarkdale (LGA1156) IGPs.
I think you had driver issues.

Yea it should have no problem, I mean minecraft runs fairly well on my cousins, GMA 950, he can even play WOW with like 15 fps all low settings.

Had to be something else.
