eSports Reviews - Razer Abyssus Review - Page 3

I don't agree. It's better to have jittery 800 CPI than noting at all. There are some raw input games where you can't lower your sensitivity enough at 1800 CPI.

Sooo here is the reason of me typing this post.
I'm looking to buy some decent mouse. Unfortunately at this times that is not so simple as it seems. After reading all your reviews I discovered that all of newage mice have some serious flaws.
Lets go back to history. My first gaming mouse was Razer Diamondback Chameleon which I think was great! I was using it for 3 years and then switched to Deathadder 3G which I was using until yesterday(it's broken now).
I was reading whole day about mice, I checked Razer, Steelseries, Logitech, Zowie, Microsoft and I didn't found any decent mouse. I was realy interested in Steelseries Xai until I read this forum and find out about horrible acceleration problem.

So here 's my question for you guys. Is there any good mouse to buy nowdays?

P.S. I know it's a bit oftopic coz this post is about Razer Abyssus which I think looks great but the jitter problem seems to much to handle.
Jitter wasn't an issue for me (and I'm using a pad notorious for it, the QcK+ - I believe if you get a newer version you will be fine).

However the build quality is terrible and the left mouse button broke in a month (Abyssus). So I can't really recommend it.

The 3.5g is a great mouse in most ways though (build quality meh but it doesn't have the same number of people complaining about it so I think it's less an issue).

Sorry for bumping this.. but has razer really even fixed the jitter? :/ There are so many people contradicting each other..not to mention quake pros use the abyssus, the jitter would definately bother them..

Is it worth risking the abyssus which looks perfect for my grip and handsize or rather play safe with a DA:BE which I think might prove a bit big for my hand?

I tried contacting them but Razer won't even acknowledge the problem. If you use a hard pad you should be jitter free or you can do what some people did and order it and hope for the best.

I bought three, each from different batches and they all jittered on cloth pads. One was even the newer league of legends edition.

I had this mouse and loved it, if only it had side buttons! I used it on Razer's Goliathus pads and then the megasoma. The mouse never had issues, but two of the razer pads shredded themself.

People with goliathus claim they have no jitter..I've talked to two guys online who claim to have no jitter and they both have goliathus control..AFAIK even quake pros couple the abyssus with a goliathus..

I think I'm not gonna risk it since it's my parents money, and get the DA:BE instead.

Im looking into buying an Abyssus because i know the shape, the low weight, and the sensor will fit me well. However, the DPI steps will not! 450 will be way too low for 6/11 and 1800 way too high, i basically want about 900-1000 dpi for 6/11.

So i want to ask this; if i use 450 dpi and as a result have to use 8/11 sensitivity, what exactly are the negative effects? And what about 1800 dpi with 4/11?

Hi,

I just stumbled upon this thread after reading some reviews and threads on here... I am the one who originally reviewed the mouse, and I took down the video because there was an issue with my computer when I ran the tests. I reran them, I don't know if I reuploaded the video though, and found no acceleration. I was compiling some videos in the background, and it may have caused my inputs to lag a little and think I was getting acceleration.

I don't remember if I reuploaded the review though, since it was an old review from ESEA. Regardless, all of my new reviews are at www.fragboss.com. I just finished the Tt eSports Saphira, and I am working on an EC2 eVo, as well as other headsets, keyboards, etc. If there is anything wrong with my reviews, try to comment on the site, I can't search these forums for my reviews. Hehe.

By the way, keep it up with all the good constructive feedback on these posts and reviews, it helps with my own reviews.

Also, in my defense, I've owned two Abyssus. One jittered pretty badly, the one I refviewed didn't. I guess I received a later batch or something. tongue.gif
