Are you just go to go to every thread with people with AMD processors and saying there will be bottlenecking.

Most of the times in games, the Processors still have 2 or 3 cores not even bieng utilized.

Numerous people have said they dont see a big difference in gaming with either a 2600 or a 1090. The biggest difference is on 3dmark.

In all honesty the only time I seen bottlenecking is when I'm video encoding with DXVA and the graphics cards is working so slow it causes audio lags and other errors.

Encoding with just my processor completes the task about 3x faster and more accurately.

The GPU has a specific task and your processor has 4 cores running that work with the GPU. true Bottlenecking is a think of the past i think

That said, my old 1090t did not bottleneck these cards at all. I switched to 2500k and while there is no doubt it smoke the 1090t, I get the same performance in games.

The SAME FPS.

FWIW.

Ha, we both have the same system names

Remember, 2x6970s beat a 580 by a lot and are only like 100 or so USD more, and 3x6970s beat 2x580s by a lot and are only 100USD or so more.
3x6970 do not beat 2x580 by a lot actually. My setup is faster than several tri-6970's in certain benchmarks. I'm only 5fps behind 6990+6970 in metro 2033.

The fact is 2x6970 or 2x580 should be more than enough for 1080p (unless you're a bencher like me)...

Doubt it all you want it's the truth. BFBC2, Crysis 1 and 2, and yes even Metro 2033. Same FPS.

I only changed the cpu and the motherboard. Everything else was the same and there is NO DIFFERENCE.

Please stop the AMD is bottlenecking your video card BS.

Is Sandy Bridge faster? Without question. But it's not the huge change you might think buy reading all these posts....

Some one hates AMD...

I personally would prefer to have a 2500K, but i dont have a disposable income...

Intel or Amd, i like both.

Nvidia vs Ati is a different story. Always have and always will be an Nvidia guy

INBL.

OP: Idk if anything has been helpful, but get "GPU Observer" and some CPU monitor gadget and that should tell you what's going down. Odds are with the graphics power you have it isn't the 6970's. Try pushing the clocks higher on your phenom.

LMAO you cant pull any more GPU power than you already have with that CPU, trust me, lookit my siggy....Im bottlenecked to hell and back. My processor OC'ed Higher than yours BARELY can utilize a whole 6970, much less 2 or 3.

Edit: Change your reference clock so that you can pull northward of 2600 NB. That gave me around a 10 fps increase on cpu heavy games.

Thread Starter
I can push it hard(cpu) and since my mobo is AM3+ compatible,im just waiting on bulldozer.Im really not a Ati or nvidia fan.Thats bs the whole fan thing going on with every graphics related post.About bottlenecking, havent noticed it, but bulldozer is killing me since it hasnt been released. Sucks big time. About going Sandy, not really.I could in the future(have the money to buy sandy mobo if i wanted up to $250 mobo if i wanted), but then ill have to spend more on a new processor(no amd).I actually spent 800 on those HIS 6970 Factory OC and can push it harder if i wanted.I also do some video editing and encoding(Nvidia in favor,no doubt).Ive owned before nvidia(GTS 250 i think it was or gt lol).
