[thegx] EA Will Delete Origin Games after 24 Months of Inactivity - Page 7

So stupid. All it does is give them bad PR without having any real benefit. How much does it cost to maintain a few kb of user account info?

If you are one of those weirdos that loves playing through old games, then by the time the initial 24 month period of inactivity has passed, the game will be spooling down into the $5 bin.
Oh, $5, then I should just buy it a second time, right? I already have zero interest in Origin and will never use the service.

If you don't even log into your account for two years, it's pretty safe to assume you don't use it anymore, and probably don't even remember the username and password.
Well from what I know in business and from experience with EA, if they say they can it's because they will.

I'm just not willing to gamble that, but that is for me. Origin will do just fine and hundreds of thousands will use it and love it.

We all have our opinions and ability to vote with our wallet. My wallet says NO to Origin.

Just as I used my Impulse as an example, and believe it or not I remember my login info and even the games I have on there. But honestly I haven't had the time or been in the mood to install Impulse or play the games I have on there.

And I don't want to feel like I am being pushed to use a service just because I know if I don't use it there is a good chance of losing it and all Entitlements that go along with it as EA puts it.

We know technically in any EULA they will state that the service can be removed blah blah blah.

But the fact EA put a time period on it is another story. And how do you know they won't? Have you had an Origin account for 2+ years inactive?

Example again is my Impulse. I only have a handful of games on there and honestly I haven't had Impulse installed back on for over a year. However maybe in another year or so I'll want to check out Demigod again or whatnot. I don't want to have to worry about oh now it's been 2 years and a month I may not have my account and software any more available to me because I haven't been on.
Show me where EA's TOS says you will lose your stuff after 24 months

Also do you have some proof that Cancelled account = deleted account?
Or just cancelled as in Inactive? Kind of like Yahoo moving an email to cancelled after a certain time frame of inactivity
