Air conditioning into my pc...

Thread Starter
Hello everyone, i just purchased a Phenom 1100t and overclocked to 4ghz and i am HOT... 55c using prime95 in about 1 minute. i am running a zalman 9500 pure copper heatsink..... NOW there is an air conditioner at Wal-Mart going for 90$ and i want to run cold air through a dryer vent or something right into the case hoping to achieve 18-23c ambient and in the mid 40s on load. it is summer here and it is HOT. thanks

I keep my computer in my room or basement and keep the AC suuuper low. With an air conditioner that close to the computer you should get perfect temps.

Condensation?

Get a better cooler or manipulate airflow.
Put your fan by the window so that's an intake for your room.. if you have one..

and put your computer near the area where the airflow comes in, works well for my room because the direction the air comes from goes out my door if I leave it open.

But it's a cold day here in Canada, Vancouver

Your room isn't air-conditioned to start with?

Of course the thing is in the mid-50s on load. CPUs are designed with server room environs in mind regarding temp/humidity etc. Get an A/C for your own comfort as well as for your computers'.

[Casa Skripka has a heat index outside of 46C and climbing, dewpoint 27C...it is 25C inside.]

I have a AC unit that costs more than that and even it has a history of spraying water out on occasion, can only take once to fry the system.

well its summer in Canada and its hot as hell outside. i just want to push my overclocks without buying stupid liquid cooling that noone ever says anything good about. i always thought it would be a good idea and was wondering if anyone had any experience with condensation.

In the end it's more cost-effective to get a liquid cooling system than ghetto-rigging an AC onto your rig. Condensation will get bad once your system is removed from that cool environment (when you turn the AC off). You'll end up with moisture and water inside your PC, especially if the room is a lot warmer than the air inside your case.

What concerns you about liquid cooling?
