The HTC Evo 3D

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

I get bored of phones fairly quickly and am thinking about gauging interest with someone to swap their Evo 3D for my iPhone 4.

I was just wondering if there are any owners on here, or if any of you have any experience with the 3D. Would you recommend it? Have you switched from iOS to Android? Regret it?

Thanks for the input biggrin.gif

I also want to know how the htc evo 3d is compared to sensation and samsung galaxy s2. It seems rather gimmicky concerning the 3d tho not sure about the rest of the features

I had the Evo 3D (upgraded from the Evo 4G) and I took it back after a week. The signal strength was about 1/2 of my original Evo. It is a nice phone and fast but wasn't anything spectacular (other than 3D). I still have my regular Evo 4G and will probably stick with that for awhile...

This is quite concerning, but having said that, there are so many variables involved in this I can't really count on it being an issue just yet.

Thanks for posting smile.gif

The extra internal RAM on the 3VO was the one that sealed the deal. I have both the EVO 4G and the 3VO, and i was continuesly running out of space on my 4g, even after rooting it. Also, gingerbread on the 4g has too much problems.
I enjoy my 3VO, and I'm waiting for a complete Root which will be very soon.

The phone I had was probably just a bad one. I didn't want to take a chance on getting another one...

No phone is the same, different people get different results. However, apparently the phone has great battery life and the specs are pretty nice. No permanent root at the moment though, so that is somewhat of a downside. The 3D is the least of the benefits and isn't a selling point.

Too bad there is the Evo 4G+, which is only available in Korea. Has the same specs as the 3D, but without the 3D screen/feature.

It's a great phone, the dual core cpu flies through everything I have thrown at it. It also has one of the best if not the best gpu available in a phone. Add one of the highest resolution screens you can get on an android, great battery life, a gig of ram and 3d(yes it's a gimmick but considering the phone costs the exact same as any other top of the line phone it's just a free feature.) I would say it all adds up to one of the best phones on the market. All that being said I get fine reception, essentially the same signal I got on my optimus V which is on sprints network as well.

Even as a gimmick the 3d is pretty cool as well, just gotta get the proper distance from your eyes for it to work properly.

Coming from another 3VO owner, everything you have said is spot on. I have mine running the temp root and overclocked to 1.8 ghz. No lag on anything, whatsoever. smile.gif
