If you're not a bumbling moron who just swears at people, you tend to get things done more efficiently. Getting angry never solves problems, and the fact you got anything was strictly due to your employee insurance.

Also, next time, don't forget to take your 200 dollar phone out of your pocket before playing dodgeball. Are you 10?

Do the iPhones come with Apple warranty? Or can you just go to the store and have them replace it for you?

TL;DR: I'm irresponsible and mean, and I take advantage of people or entities whenever possible, especially making them pay for my own mistakes. Also, I have no dignity.

Wow you are everything that I hate about the world.

You're not entitled to a new phone, YOU broke it, you get to pay full, unsubsidized price for a new one. And if you're such a knowledgeable Verizon rep, you should learn your product and know that AppleCare and Apple has absolutely NOTHING to do with getting your phone replaced by Verizon's insurance, that's completely on Verizon. You called the wrong number. Grats on being able to bully someone on the phone, You'll loathe the day that that stops working and you're left unequipped to deal with real life and real people that do things the right way.

Also, and this is worse than all of the above: Your story is false. You didn't get a free applecare plan, there's no such thing, they cannot be comp'ed. It is 100% completely impossible to do, and has never, ever been done before. I'm sorry that you feel the need to falsify such a thing, but I'm guessing if you're lying about that, you're lying about the rest of it. That's not how Apple does things.
And since you're going to ask, I'll just tell you. I'm the most educated and experienced you can possibly be on the subject, so we don't have to debate this.

I think they come with like a one year warranty but it's a funky warranty policy. Essentially, it's covered from defects so if it explodes for some reason within the first year, it's covered under warranty up to Apple's discretion. The weird thing is that apparently you only get 90 days of phone support or something like that unless you purchase the Apple Care.

The Apple Care stuff is more like an extended warranty. You have to buy it before your 1 year warranty runs out. But it really doesn't cover anything. It only covers the same stuff that your original warranty covers just for 2 years instead of 1. So if you drop your phone and it breaks, it's not covered.

Not particularly. You tend to get more done by showing them that you're pissed but still listening. The remark at the end wasn't really needed though. Although, the easiest way to do it is to explain yourself once and then ask for a supervisor and not stay on the phone with the first wave of reps.

So, I decide the best option is to take it to an Apple Store, raher than waste my time dealing with iTunes. >_>

The "Genuis" comes up with his little computer tool thingy (it's like this thing they plug into the phone to run a diagnostic). A second or two later, he goes, "Yeah, we'll just have to replace yours with a new one."

O_o

That was it. My old iPhone, dropped twice with no case (apple bumper), although miminal damage (no scratches on screen), a year old, has been replaced with a brand new iPhone 4 32GB within seconds.

Why this is funny is because the guy did absolutely nothing. Imagine this, you take your computer into a computer repair place, they do diagnostics and say, "Yeah, let me go get you a new one out of the back, brb."

I'm not complaining, btw. I just thought it was pretty funny. He made zero real attempt in fixing my phone.

That is all. ^_^

Anyone here have some Apple Store stories?

My wife was given a FREE 16GB iPhone 3GS after her 18 month old 3GS's home button stopped working. Her phone was long passed its warranty and we didn't have AppleCare or any other warranty services. The Apple Genius tried to fix it for her but couldn't, so he outright replaced it for her for nothing. We were beside ourselves. 18 month old iPhone replaced for nothing. Love apple customer service.

While the Sales people at the Apple store never have risen above the Best Buy sales people in all my experiences, I have only heard good things about the Genius bar and support. I own a few Apple products but have yet to have any real issues. If/When I do, I will definitely feel comfortable going in to see them.

Speaking of lying, if he is 18+, and a Verizon rep, why was he in a gym playing dodgeball? With someone apparently stupid enough to intentionally step on his phone?

Obviously 12.

Or he could be in college because he just said "School". Or he could be in high school as my friend worked for Sprint while he was still in high school. I would guess high school.
