Intel i5 750 overclock questions. Help !

Thread Starter
So, i have overclocked my intel i5 750 in the bios at 181x21, at 3.8ghz with 1.23v if i get lower voltage i get bsod, very rare bsod, but i get it, so the limit for me in 3.8ghz is 1.23v

Here is the questions:

I have the Asus P7P55D-E mobo

And what are those settings in the bios, what they do? They are in auto now.

IMC Voltage, CPU PLL Voltage, PCH Voltage, CPU Spread Spectrum, CPIE Spred Spectrum CPU Clock Skew

What are these ?

And i have 3 chips of ram in total 6gb ram. Is the Corsair ram, it's the stock version, with 1333mhz and 9-9-9-27 These memory ram could get a overclock to 1600mhz or no ? Or i could lower the latencies ?

Those are all settings best left on auto. There are some guides on here that explain some of that stuff, try searching for them.

You may be able to run the ram at 1600, but first get the cpu stable then worry about the ram. The extra 266MHz ram speed is not going to be all that noticable..

Auto is fine on all those settings...

How are your 3 ram sticks configured? I thought the P55 boards were dual channel, meaning 2 sticks or 4 sticks = dual channel, 1 stick or 3 sticks = single channel...

I dont know if there is any advantage/disadvantage to having the extra 2GB but loosing the dual channel mode.. But I would test it to find out.
