External Blu-Ray Player Or Internal w/ Software?

So i'm in a bit of a hard place and a rock.

Should i buy an internal blu-ray player, and blu-ray software, or is it possible to use an external player and use an HDMI cable as audio/video out to graphics card?

Just get the internal player with software - it will work much better and use GPU acceleration, plus with software there are a lot of features that can be implemented that external players can't do.
