That's exactly one of the many reasons I refuse to run it.
So your telling me that they would not give you a refund or try to fix your problem..... this hard to believe did they ask for a receipt or anything ?

VERY hard to believe. Considering all I had to do to get Mirrors edge, MoH airborne, and a few other steam bought ea games activated on origin was show them a screenie of my library, and they put the games on my account (with different keys). Very good service from my standpoint.

If it's not going to be on Steam then I guess I'm not buying it. I'm not a diehard BF fan like most here are though.

ok so on page 10 I said I would get the game for PS3...I have a clan on PS3 and that is why I will get it on console. I'm gonna get it for PC down the road, but with all of the issues on the 3rd party side and the disc version being a hassle, I'll wait and see what the best option is...if there is a way to get it without origin, fine, if you have to have origin for BF3...fine. It is just gonna suck having to go back and forth between the two services and having two applications.

It's like having your games in different managers and the biggest issue is since it's not on steam ppl dnt like the other managers therefore you get a solid copy (depending) and I don't have a cd drive so.... that's an issue.

Sure, sometimes new games on Steam are cheaper than retail but generally speaking new releases are the same price, regardless of retail or digital.

It's just sheer laziness that they can't be bothered walking or driving to a store to get it.

And if you mean to tell me you would rather not buy a game you want because its not on Steam than to just get a freakin hard copy, they you sir are an idiot (Not directed at you Jordan44, just a general statement)
Or people don't want to drive 40 miles to the nearest gamestop to buy the game...

You're telling us to reward EA for this ploy against Steam by buying it in their shop. They're getting my money anyway, so I have no idea why they feel that can force my purchasing power like that. That's not how you treat a customer.

If they wanted my sale, they could have offered the game at a smaller cost, or with some kind of exclusive map or feature. If I had any consideration to go with Origin at any time, it's not helped by actions like this, at all. It shows a major lack of confidence on their part.

It's foul play. You may cheerlead them and say it's business, but you should cheerlead me and say the same. It's our wallets, and it's not slave to crap like this.
So it is just principal like I asked earlier. I am fairly certain I will buy it from D2D just on principal as well, but I think people need to get their "pricipals" straight. Buying a retail box is going to make EA just as happy as some one buying it through Origin. At least buying it at D2D will make them frown a little for a few seconds till D2D gives them their money. They will sit there and wonder, "why didn't they just buy it from our digital service?" and likely never be able to figure it out.

Agreed. Completely. They're not really giving us much of a choice on that matter. Choices have literally been ELIMINATED from me. If D2D didn't exist, I literally would be tearing my hair out because of this debacle~ because I would NOT buy it. I could not~!

There's like a lot of people here who are like "You're going to buy it anyway~" and yeah, it's true, a lot of people aren't like me. However, fortunately or unfortunately as it may be, I am who I am.

If D2D wasn't an option, I would literally be forced to NOT buy a game I want out of politics! It wouldn't be an artistic choice, a money issue~ I'd have NO beef with Dice, but for the first time in my LIFE as a video gamer a PUBLISHER is trying to dictate how I spend my money, and this is somehow a trivial concern to people.

That's a really good point actually. This could become the future where EA and Activision each control their own distribution and you have to go through them. Eventually, every publisher could have their own distribution program you have to go through, each with their own crippling DRM.

If Origin was just a direct download like D2D then it wouldn't be such an issue, but its their own proprietary software that you have to have running. Not to mention the fact that they will erase your ownership of the game after a certain period of inactivity.

This is just sickening.
