DIY UMTS Antenna

I'm making my own antenna due to bad UMTS 2100 reception. My provider only do 900 and 2100 and the modem im using can't do 900. I only got examples of wi fi antennas but I don't need to aim a signal so I got this picture of one that you can buy

Now that two black strips in the antenna. Is that where the coils are? I'm thinking of making two coils on a copper wire then solder it onto the modems pcb because its antenna is internal. Will it work?

Those two lumps are the loading coils.
