i5 750 extreme temp. help needed;

Thread Starter
Hi all,

This is my first post, im no overclocker but i guess u can help me,
my problem is very high cpu temperatures while playing battlefield bad
company 2, actually i stopped playing and began looking a cpu cooler, but
considering i have no overclock on my cpu, how can it heat this much?

I checked vcore by hwmonitor, it shows 1.56, i guess it is too much, because when i googled i saw people reaching 4.00 ghz with lower vids,

pls tell me what to do.

there is no overclock in any of the parts and i just cleaned inside the case, cpu wasn't removed since i bought the pc i guess for 15 months.

First things first.

Are you running your cpu under a stock heatsink? If so, buy an aftermarket cooler like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Heatsink, or an adequate water cooling system.

To be honest with you, 49 Celsius is not that hot at all. But to conserve the cpu's life expectancy, and to open up the option of overclocking, buy an aftermarket cpu cooler.

Completely missed that. My bad . I'm not used to coretemp at all.

Can you take a screenshot of CPU-Z, and the performance tab of taskmgr please?

Thanks

There is no way that it should be like that on the stock cooler with everything stock.

Either 1 of the pins did not attach to the board, or something is wrong with the paste.

Have you removed it and put it back without changing the paste a few times?

If so you will need some TIM (Thermal Interface Material) not sure of your location, but most computer stores carry some brand of it.

If its just been on there since you got it then you may be able to just take it off and put it back on, make sure its attached securely.

But best way is to clean it thoroughly with some Isopropyl Alcohol 90% or better, then put a small dab of new TIM in the center of the CPU and reseat the cooler..

When you do order a new cooler, get a tube of TIM, Arctic Cooling MX-4 (or MX-2), OCZ Freeze
