Brutal stick figure murder.

Greetings bloodthirsty masses.

Today on my travels, carnage was on the menu. What kind of carnage you ask? Well, the type involving craniums spiraling apart at the mere flick of my mighty palm.

I am of course talking about..... RUBBER NINJAS.

While the name may conjure up images of prophylactic espionage, that foul (albeit understandable) assumption is proven false. For those of you who like fighting games but don't have the time or the inclination to learn 50 button combos, your desires will be satisfied here. The fact that you get to see these limb smashing moves in slow motion only adds to endorphin high.

RN is a Ragdoll Fighter at it's core and quite a good one. The developer's been making these for years and this is easily the cream of the crop. I mean sweet Jebus, just LOOK AT IT. I actually discovered this genre completely on accident when I was playing a Havoks Physics simulator about 10 years ago. It consisted of shooting/pushing a skeleton down several flights of stairs until he... died.

Didn't make much sense then either.

Unlike that decade old tech demo, this son of a gun brings some visceral gameplay to the table. You start every level in a round arena, think of it as a fishbowl. A fishbowl of death. By manipulating every limb on your character's body, you guide them through the arena to lay the smackdown upon red savages. I can't even begin to explain how great it feels to gracefully pound the ever loving snot out of these little sticks.

This picture seems to sum it up pretty well.

It also keeps the experience fresh by introducing multiple enemy types and weapons into the mix. Nunchucks, swords, and that giant staff Bruce Lee used in Way Of The Dragon are all here. All backed by a sick acoustic guitar soundtrack that reminds me of Luis Bonfa. Who knew chill Bossa Nova tunes could get me in such a homicidal mood?

A fun way to kill an afternoon and a family of thickly drawn lines, Rubber Ninjas delivers. Feel free to let loose whatever pent up aggressions you have from the world on to these unsuspecting crimson devils.
We both know they deserve it.

I think it's floating around on the Ragdoll Soft website.
It's weird, every game they've made till now has been free.

Except for Super Steal Ball.

That game was called Porrasturvat, I still play it occasionally (since I can't push my wife down stairs... we don't have any stairs)

HA! That game is similar, but not quite the one I was thinking of. They do make a mean truck crashing sim that I love.
I did stumble across it though, looks exactly the same.
