Going from X4 630 to 2500K

Thread Starter
Well I'm tired of waiting for BD and well I want to part out most of my sig rig. Times change and well now to me it has too much rice! I was looking to go for a quiet, small, mATX build.

I can't decide in between the Asus P8P67-M PRO

or the Asus Maximus IV GENE-Z

What are the pros and cons if I pick one or the other?

I want to try and hit 5.0 GHz for kicks and giggles too but keep it at a stable 4 Ghz. What quiet cooling solution could I go for to keep the 2500K cool? All in one closed loop?

That brings me to my next question, a tiny, case to house the rig?

All I imagine I'll have in this new rig is..

2x4GB set of ram
reasonable sized SSD for OS and essentials.
?TB F3 HDD
maybe another 6850 for Xfire
non overkill PSU
Wish it was ITX

How much are you looking to spend?

This is what I'd recommend but I'll put together a list from newegg once i have a price.

Case: Silverstone FT03 is the nicest mATX case out there
SSD: I'd recommend the Intel 510, just please dont get an OCZ drive. I had one and they're garbage.
HDD: Only you can pick what size you need. 1TB should be enough for most people unless you have tons of games.
GPU: Your 6850 can probably do reasonably well in most games. I'd stick with it for now since the 7000 series are coming out before the end of the year.

I'd go with the P8P67-M Pro. It's an AMAZING overclocker, full featured (SLI / Crossfire), mATX motherboard. I'm actually planning on switching to that same board myself soon.

And if you're after a small case, look at the Lian Li A05 case.

The Maximus is ONLY useful if you intend on going tri / quad fire / SLI.
