PSU calculator is fine, as long as you divide with 2

appreciate the advice guys, but in my region (aus) i could only get my hands on the tx or hx series and since the hx are modular cables i've decided on the corsair hx 750w ($189). However, if there's another reliable psu under a different manufacturer then please let me know!!! i need quality and bang for buck!!!

Just get the HX650 if you don't plan to SLI. 650W is more than enough for your set up.

600-650w is what you'd need to SLI GTX 560Ti's, not one.

A good 450w will do for one.

the hx650 or hx750? that is the question. i most likely won't sli the 560Ti's and won't buy any x2 cards, though i MAY upgrade my gpu when the time is right.... im keeping in mind that the next generation of nvidia cards may also use more or less power consumption.. so i do want to be able to have a bit of a future proof psu, but not too excessive that it'd always be overkill. maybe upgrade to a gtx760 if there will ever be? then that brings up the hx850 again. sorry lads, i am a fussy computer buyer.

Go with the Hx 650, it will be more than enough. I used to run my 5970 with one, 650 will be more than enough for any single graphics card and many sli/crossfire setups as well.

A good 550w is fine if you're not going to SLI anything or run dual GPU cards.

Most PSU calculators figure for the worst case scenario. Like the cheapest PSU you can buy which provides less than 70% of it's stated wattage, and sometimes not even a good percentage on it's 12v rail. That way people can't get a crap PSU and then complain when it can't power their rig.

850HX or the new 1050HX
don't bother with the 1000HX at all
I'm running SLI 580's fine on a 850HX
