Sounds EXACTLY like mine. Seriously.

I think that 2600k's with HT on require more volts than 2500ks. If you disable HT it seems a lot easier to stabilize, as well as lower temps.

You need to turn turbo off, and raise CPU PLL, I don't know what is the right one for SB sense I haven't overclocked one in months, ask someone that knows.

I tried my 2600k at 5GHz at 1.52 volts even with HT off, crashes as soon as prime95 starts, I'm not willing to go much higher than that just for kicks.

I have a hard time getting my 2500K to 4.8GHz 12 hours + Blend stable. Right now I'm trying about 1.47v Vcore on full load. And It seems lowering the PLL voltage to 1.7v helped a little.

Mine also needs ~1.368v (min. 1.360v) for 4.5GHz to be 12 hours + Blend stable. And it needs about 1.44v for 4.7GHz.

I'm just hoping if I upgrade my secondary system to Sandybridge, that I'll get a better overclocker. Then I can have my bad overclocker in the secondary system.

So far I've seen five that can clock to 5ghz with less than 1.5v and that's with HT on, it's the luck of the draw im afraid. Like I said check The Sandy Stable Club, click sorted by overclock and there you have it

You have to try what works best for your system.

At my above settings, using 1.85v PLL made my system BSOD pretty fast. 1.7v seems to have made it much more stable at my current settings.
