Should I return HD 5970

I have a Visiontek 5970 that can't OC to 850mhz and 1200mhz stable. It can only go as far as 820mhz 1200mhz. I was wondering since the HD 5970 was promised to be an under-clocked 5870x2 with the guarantee of hitting 5870 speeds...Did i get shafted. SHould I return it for a replacement? can i?

personally i wouldnt complain. if you dont find it to be worth it, sell it and find something else.

There's no such thing as a guaranteed unadvertised overclock.

well I just want to be able to use it as it was advertised. It does good for the games i play, except for Crysis 2 DX 11 with heavy textures...i get some low fps sometimes. oh and Starcraft 2 with everything turned to ultra.

For the amount I payed for it I would be selling it for a loss...I wasn't planning on upgradin till new games start givin me problems. Also it takes forever to sell these things on Ebay

a 5970 is closer to 5850x2 then 5870x2

820 and 1200mhz is quite respectable especially if that was without voltage adjustment

My personal experience with 5970 was awful, my single gtx480 outperformed my overclocked 5970 in every game especially in the minimum fps department.

From reviews it says these things are guaranted 900mhz core clock. especially seeing how AMD intentionally underclocked them

um well I had to bump to 1.125v...althouh I never really tested it veyr well under that...i looked up the normal OC voltage and 1.125 seemed to be a consensus. I don't get much time to sit around and test my OCs
