Building PC soon

Thread Starter
Alright, 1st post here. Long time lurker though (just recently decided to make an account lol).

School has thankfully provided me with enough money to build a new PC, and I'm capping myself at a $1,500 limit. This price includes a monitor (I'll be getting the money in about a month if that matters at all).

So far I have:

http://bit.ly/Eyh6l - ASUS VH236H - $189.99
http://bit.ly/bzC4O4 - WD Black Caviar 1TB - $89.99
http://bit.ly/i22rw2 - Intel i5 2500K -Found for $214.99
http://bit.ly/goi14e - Samsung Blu Ray/DVD - $59.99
http://bit.ly/10YgBb - Hyper 212 - Found for $24.99
Total is: 584.99

So I still have 915.05 (I'll make it $1,000 though) and I need a case, PSU, Memory/RAM, SSD, GFX card, MOBO, and anything else I'm forgetting. I had a couple things in mind, but would rather have your guys' input on what to get and start from there.

tl;dr- I have $1,000 and still need a GFX card, SSD, PSU, Case, MOBO, RAM, and anything else I may have forgotten.
Please include price w/o rebates

Almost forgot! This PC will be used mainly for gaming but will include some gameplay recording and such. So from what I've read, the i5 2500k will be enough to handle all this.

Thanks guys.

Planning to OC, yes. I'm going to play BF3, TF2, CSS, and a few call of duty titles. Basically needs to run any game I throw at it.

First off, Welcome to OCN!

Next, I have recently seen those wd 1tb black hdds for $60 and samsung and other brands for $50 so wait for a sale. Subscribe to newegg email along with tiger direct so you don't miss out on some deals. Also make sure to check the online deals section here on OCN.

I will edit this post with some things that I would recommend for the rest of your build in a little while so make sure to re-read this post a bit later.

Edit- here's a quick build under your budget with good components. 2.5 tb of hdd, the 1.5 sata 2 can be used for backup, pictures, music, movies, while the 1tb sata 3 for programs and games as it is lots faster. Also included is a sata 3 hdd for boot drive. You can also always add another 560 gpu later down the line for sli The motherboard has a extra slot between the pci-e x16 slots for airflow for your cards if you go sli or x-fire later (board supports both along with sata 3 and usb 3)

http://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/Sh...px?Submit=view

total would be $1374 before shipping and after rebates. I'm not sure if you can follow link as it is listed as secure, but I'll take a picture and post it here in a minute.

Edit: screen snip-
Nice case, ram, mobo, cpu, gpu, ssd, exc-

Nice suggestions guys. Will look at them more in depth in a bit. Already saving me ~$200

Thanks again!

Edit:
I was looking at graphics cards and unsure what to choose. I'm stuck between the 560 Ti and the 6950. Everything else seems good

IT seems the 560 gets higher FPS in some games while the 6950 in others. But as plenty know the NVIDIA drivers are much more stable than the AMD Catalyst drivers

Guess the 560 Ti is better. Thanks for the help guys. I'll post a list of what I've decided on shortly.
