Yeah the memory is a bit touchy. Those are the clocks I was running it on 24/7 when I was water cooling. I made a mistake in my earlier post, the mem was at 1275. Now a days I just use air cooling and run 900/1235 @ stock volts 24/7. That and my 965 OC'ed to 3.9ghz will just give me enough to get ~60fps in dirt 3 :/

I have the asus direct cu 5850 which supports over volting without any mods so it's pretty easy to push this card. Which one do you have? Keep pushing it but don't fry it

Edit: I've also never seen my card go up to 80c, ever. I guess that's because I run the fan manually at 85% when I'm gaming and I set it to 25% at idle. Never seen it over 60c on the hottest of days.

Yeo, its a sapphire ref, I sold it to a friend a while back and he just runs it stock *sob*, so I went round to overclock it for him there. I couldnt remember if it was 900 or 950mhz I used to run it at as it began artifacting at 950, but then I saw it was hitting 80c which it never did when I had it! His house is roasting tho. I was able to get it back to 950mhz but the fan needed to be at 100%. I use occt to get complete stability but it tortures the card! So it seems it becomes unstable once it gets near the 80c mark, which is understandable but its not gona reach that while gaming and didnt with 100% fan. So yea I always figured the chip was designed to be ran at 1.162v so it was safe enough. It could run at the magical 1GHz but required 1.225v, obviously didnt bother running that 24/7 since it wud do just 50mhz less for much less volts, not wirth the bragging rights. Was a great card like yours (nearly, your sounds just slightly more awesome) , kinda wish id never sold it! But I figured chances were low of getting another one like that for crossifire, so wouldn have been able to take advantage of such a great oc. Id love to have seen it under water.

Nice to pass it on to a pal though, as a single card solution. The 5850 really is a great card, especially ones like ours
