Yeah i have tried 2 cables already. It is connected right way around and there is nothing else connected onto it.

Then its fair to say its no longer working.

In all honesty sata ones are much better and only a few £/$

But it was connected with ide wire in my other computer too. The other computer just turned on but didnt show any screen just blank.

NO.

That is a ide dvd drive, Its out of date.

You need to buy a sata dvd drive from your local computer shop or online

heh how did my older computer had it. okay motherboard has been changed in the computer i had and now i have more older computer with 2 ide holes and 2 sata ones. the broken had 4 sata and 1 ide.

or maybe you know what would be wrong with the broken computer?
that it has a blank screen all fans were working.

You older computer would of come with it because it didnt become a sata as standard until 2009

Some motherboard still come with ide connections because people bought 120gb ide hdds and use them as back up ones.
