Is it safe to overclock my GeForce GTX460? - Page 4

I know a safe OC you should be able to get would be at least 800 on the core without a problem. Good luck with your OC'ing!

No I doubt it. I never even messed with voltages. Too risky for me. If my card wasnt defective (Currently in RMA, hits 104C all the time, using 250 right now) I could have gone higher than 816 on the core.

There's nothing wrong with increasing voltage as long the temps stay below 90C.

Depending on the power phases, the VRM's might melt. That's the inherent danger of increasing voltage.

put the voltage at 1.087 and step up the core by 5's and when you have a driver failure step back 15 or 20 then work on the memory. move this up by 10's until you are unstable. then again back it off. continually run furmark after major steps like 740 800 850 900 and do the same for mem. shaders will be locked

my engtx 460 tops (768mb) in sli did 915/2150 they are killing a 3d vision setup with 60+ fps

if your worried about hardware failure you are probably on the wrong forum sir

OCN FTW

Mine is now at 785mhz core clock no errors gonna overclock more soon, but dont use furmark no more it gives no errors while OCCT gave alot of errors on 830mhz core clock.

Now i oc'ed it to 830, which seems to be the max clcok on standard voltage without errors. Tested with OCCT on max settings, ran for 15 minutes; 1 minute idle monitoring, 10 minutes of the stress test itself, then 4 minutes of monitoring for a total of 15 mins. But then i got some questions:

1. Should i run the stress test for an hour to fully check for errors?

2. I want to overclock the memory too, i know how to but do i test it with GPU OCCT or GPU Memtest?

Sorry if bad english.
