Other people measured none at all, though the general consensus is that it has a very slight drop, only measurable in a synthetic benchmark.

Either way, there is no SSD that can hold a candle to the Sandforce SF-2200 based drives, and the OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS in particular.

The Crucial C300, M4, and Intel 300 and 500 series drives can't touch them in terms of performance. I have personally not had any problems with my Vertex 3 Max IOPS.
sequential yeah, but not IOPS. the c300 comes close for a drive that has been out for awhile.

Sequential reads/writes are wayyy too overrated therefor my recommendation will always be the C300 since it's much more reliable than OCZ and it's IOPS are pure win.

1. Make a list of all the models recommended in the thread
2. Buy the cheapest 120GB~ you can find from the list.

Once again, it's the C300. Forget sequential speeds focus on 4k, it's not that hard people.

I was about to go for the Crucial M4 when it came out but I put it off until the new up-coming SSDs would be released and see which is the best drive at 120GB. It seems that everyone is still recommending the Crucial drive because it does best in the areas that matter most.

The C300 is till available in some places and my question is which is the better drive to go for, the older C300 or the newer M4? (Both are the same price).

Link to proof please.

Opinions without reliable reviews/hard facts are merely opinions. Are you saying that the C300 is faster in every way simply because of the 4k read? Funny that all reviews I see put the Vertex over the top... If you are correct then I would think that would be factored in. Please educate me, I'm new to the SSD world.

I am in the market for a 120-128gb SSD as well and was wondering about this myself. Instead of making duplicate threads Ill be posting here.

There's so many to choose from its kind of ridiculous. I think I'm leaning with the crucial M4 or Intel 510 but the crucial c300 is also a possibility. There's no real big winner from what I can tell. All are excellent drives. Correct me if I'm wrong but each one has superior performance in its own areas? So I presume its all matter of preference..

So bottom line is which one would you choose?
