I wouldn't bother with optical nowadays as it can't pass DTS-HD, TrueHD, etc. It won't make that purty TrueHD light, well light up.

Its a custom made 20 feet hdmi cable that is certified to do 3d, ethernet and comes pretested .. All my other smaller sized (1m - 2m) cables, optical, hdmi are Monster cables.. just like they say "cable for life" .. don't buy cheap-o cables..

I just got the new Samsung 5.1 HTIB that has 4x HDMI in, 3x Optical In etc.. 3D HDMI 1.4 Ready, anynet+ and more. Setting it up, will test and post.

HDMI Cable is 20' and costs way less than the thousands you'd end up spending on speakers and a reciever. I just got a new Samsung 55" 3D LED that pulled $3400 out of my pocket and I obviously wasn't going to spend another $3400 on audio.

This would work just fine. A good quality cable doesn't need to be pricey.

Don't try to justify Monster cables. Monster are a hair away from criminals, IMO.

? Why do people hate this company soo much. Quality cables makes a HUGE difference and its backed by the dealers guarantee...

Unlike cheap-o cables from eBay that are so delicate, if you bend them they probably break from the inside. Oh, and they take 5 months to get here from china via cargo ship.

No one says you need Chinese eBay cables. You don't need "quality" cables for digital signals, sorry to burst your bubble.

Ok, well I just set everything up. Plugged all the cables in and such with the new system. I have two problems.

1.) I plug the PC in the HDMI port labeled SAT. and when switch the source the only option I get is "SAT Optical" but not SAT HDMI.

2.) How do I know if the Sub is working? Because I don't hear anything from it even during setup I click test and hear nothing from the sub.

There are only a few major copper wire manufacturers for audio, companies just outsource from major OEMs like Belden, Canare, Mogami, etc. What you are buying is just bulk cable that's wrapped up in a nicer rubber sleeve that someone else is selling under a different name for 1/2 the cost.

This isn't hand churned butter from Sweden we are talking about...
