- Are the 480s really THAT cheap? If the difference is marginal go 570-580, if not just get the 480!
What resolution are you using? If you're on a 1920x1080 screen, then a single 480 is enough. One 480 is similar to a 570 in performance, and when I was single gpu I was really happy. The only game I couldn't max was Metro. I went sli only because of the incoming 2560x1440
- Ditch the Antec, get a Corsair AX. 850 should be enough but if you are planning some extreme overclocks you may want to go a bit higher. If you're planning tri sli then a 1200 is definitely recommended.
- I'd get a Corsair Force instead of the OCZ, but that's just me.
- Go custom WC, a kit is good only if you stick to what it's meant for!
- Ditch the Asus, get a Dell IPS. If you wish to keep the sli 480s and you can afford it, go with a U2711!
- 8gb of ram instead of 4
-Z68 mobo instead of P67
-2500k is a 2600k minus the threads. Unless you play constantly multithreaded games, or you encode a lot, then just go with the i5

i see you are getting the stuff from overclockers.

if you are spending that much, do not bother getting any thing less than a 120 gig ssd.

Cosair 800D £214 DELIVERED

Asus P8P67 Pro Rev3 £130 DELIVERED

G-Skill Ripjaws X 8GB 1600mhz Cas9 £69 DELIVERED

Antec High Current Pro Power Supply Unit 1200W £215 DELIVERED * won't need 1200w for SLI, but should be fine for TRI SLI.

By the way do you need 4TB of storage? I would get a couple of samsing F3's or even F4's for storage. You could save a lot ££ with the HDD's.

As for the rasa kit, its £170 for the basic kit which just does CPU, what would I need to buy ontop of that kit to enable me to WC the 480s?

Regarding the RAM please read THIS and THIS

You would need to get a couple of full waterblocks for the 480's, check martins review of the blocks HERE

Hope that helps

scan.co.uk has asus gtx 480 for £196. Cheapest gtx 570 is over £250.

Im going to be getting xspc rasa 360 kit.

What makes you say z68 instead of p67? I thought those z68s just came with ssd caching, which was a gimmick?

Good links! I dont think id be doing tri sli, so what else would you recommend? A decent 850W be enough?

Also I put 4TB because I would be doing raid 1. I had 2x1TB drives for raid 1 last time and I filled it fast, so thats why i put 2x2tb in the new build.

Yeah a quality 850w should be fine for 480 SLI. I would really think about the HDD, something like THIS for storage would do fine. £110 delivered for 4TB is a damn good deal.

You should check out www.scan.co.uk, www.ebuyer.com and www.aria.co.uk.

They normally have stuff cheaper than OCUK unless it's on offer.

I would go for two 6950s over two GTX 480s for the fact that they have more VRAM and scale much better, not to mention being much more efficient and being able to unlock, as well as being cheaper (this is coming from a GTX 460 owner by the way). Also I would stick with 2 modules totalling at 8GB instead of buying two kits, because the CPU uses a dual channel controller and two memory modules won't hold you back as much as four will when it comes to overclocking, as four will stress the memory controller on the CPU a lot more. Whether you can find the use for the Hyperthreading on the 2600K or not, I think you'd be better off saving some cash and going with a 2500K, since you plan on waiting for Ivy Bridge anyway, and Hyperthreading isn't worth anything close to the extra money it costs over the 2500K.

Corsair AX850 PSU £135 DELIVERED

That is one of the best 850w PSU and should handle 480s very well and it's also a pretty good price.
