Is my PSU good enough? - Page 2

All of the Kingwin power supplies are Super Flower OEM I think. However, a lot of the older units are kind of below average or rated a bit optimistically compared to generally recommended units. It's just 624W on +12V advertised. Super Flower makes some decent units other than Golden Green/King (Kingwin Lazer Gold/Platinum), but I'd guess that this Kingwin ABT-730MM is not one of them.

If you're going to do it, I would avoid undue stress testing loads like FurMark. Definitely don't overclock the GTX 470s.

What does Super Flower OEM mean? And I was planning on possibly undervolting my GTX 470s to see if they could operate at a lower voltage. I was definitely not going to overclock them.

"Super Flower OEM" means that the company named Super Flower has manufactured some of Kingwin's power supplies. One example is the Lazer Gold series.

It's like saying that SeaSonic manufacturers some of Corsair's power supplies.

Oh, and "OEM" means "Original Equipment Manufacturer".

Ah, I see. I didn't know that other companies manufactured PSUs for other companies. I thought Kingwin would manufacture their own PSUs. Thanks for the enlightenment!

This will run your rig nicely
I meant to reply to this earlier, this wouldn't work for me since I've got another GTX 470 on the way and this PSU only has enough connectors for one GPU.

Btw, REP + was given to those that helped me!

Well it would work, but you'd just need to use two of those ugly molex to PCI-E power adapters (4 molex connectors to create two PCI-E connectors).

They can with lower quality power supplies (that is, power supplies I wouldn't dare recommend).
