Umm the cpu might be a little underpowered for BC2. I know the video card can do it easy. I am just worried about the clock speed of the CPU.

I can play it on almost max settings with my current setup and my old 5770.

I would say with the 5770 you'll have no issues. The Mobo and chip is a different story. I just realized its a combo, I thought it was the new AMD APU 3650 or 3850. I used to play BC2 on my Radeon 3870 all maxed at 2x AA with only 4GB DDR2 and a Phenom II x3. BC3 would be a totally different story.

GPU wise, you're fine. CPU wise, not.

try and get a cpu that is atleast 2.8GHz if its a dual core or get a 2.2Ghz quad core which ever is cheaper
post #6 of 9
Also, scrap the 5770 and get a 6770. Its basically the same thing, but the new 6 series chip so its slightly better at tessellation, and im not sure but probably lower power consumption..

you could ditch that motherboard and cpu, go with a smaller cheaper board with still more options, maybe get lucky and unlock a 555 black edition?

You could go this route:

ASUS M4N68T-M V2 AM3

With:

AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition

Or even get a AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition

Its worth the extra money, I wouldn't use the board you have for anything more then a HTPC or general work.

graphic card is fine
you don't need 8gb ddr unless you are dealing with real heavy duty pro programs, 4gb is fine

you can go with another power supply
you don't need 650W right now if you don't plan to upgrade your system pretty soon
i am running with 550w el cheapo power supply (which gives 480W actually and not 550W) and running my system (in signature)

as far as hard disc drive i higly recommend samsung spinpoint f3 1tb, the price difference is not so big, and this is so much better drive.

and cpu and motherboard should definitely be changed
you can get at least something like athlon II 250 and some nice motherboard like asrock 770+de at least i think that's what it's called
but definitely don't get 8gb ddr and that cpu, that just makes no sence, save money by goind wiht 4gb since for gaming you won't ever use 8gb
and if you neeed it for professional programs and need 8gb, then also you can't get that processor because that is just too weak...

so my recommendation
athlonII 250
asrock 770+de
spinpoint f3 1tb
4gb ddr
5770
450W power supply
-a much better build
