Sennheiser PC360

So I recently got into higher quality audio gear after years of logicrap/onboard and have really been enjoying it. I purchased a Xonar ST as a recommendation from the folks around here and love it so far. Also recently picked up a set of ATH-M50s which have been perfect for the music I listen to. Now I fully expected this, but the ATH-M50s are not the greatest for gaming so I was toyign with the idea of a second set of cans for gaming. The ATH-AD700s and Senn 555s were the first options I considered, but I just so happen to stumble across the PC360 which I've heard pretty good things about.

Now typically at the price point they are sold at I would not even consider getting this headset just due to the stupid markup they always tack on something with an integrated mic, but in my search for reviews I happened across a set of refurbished PC360s from a reputable(imo) retailer for 110$ USD shipped. Now I already have a clip on mic and have used it for over a year and it works fine, but I must admit I kind of like the integrated boom mics, jsut hate the crap quality of gaming headsets.

From what I've heard the PC360s are approximately equivalent is SQ to the HD555s. I wouldn't really be using these for music as my M50s match my sonic prefs much better then the Senn offerings at this price point, so strictly for gaming is it worthwhile to pick up a pair of refurbed PC360s for the same price as a HD555? I'm not overly concerned about it being a refurb, as I have had and excellent experience with the refurb items I've purchased in the past.

Opinions and feedback are appreciated smile.gif

All things considered, at that price, yes, worth it.

The PC360 is much improved on the fail that was the PC350. With refurbed (if from the manufacturer), they'll actually have better, usually matched drivers as well. A lot of refurb'ed from the manufacturer can be better quality than retail due to newer parts and the fact refurbing costs money thus it's in their best interest to not see that thing in the refurb shop again thus higher quality control.

Very good info, did not know that about the updated drivers. Thanks

So am I correct in saying the overall SQ of the PC360 is roughly equivalent to the HD555?

Coolbeans. While I've got you here, would you know of a good opamp for my ST's buffer to pair with my 49720HA x2?
