Need a little help

Thread Starter
I currently have a sapphire 6850 that is malfunctioning (flickering screen). I am going to send it in and get a in store credit at newegg.com. I need some help finding a graphics card in the 200-250 dollar range. I do not discriminate against open box or recertified.

I just truly want the most bang for my buck. Plus I want to make this thing BF3 ready for high settings (I play at 1920 x 1080).

Thanks for your help.

6950. try looking for a reference if there are still any with a bios switch. there is still the possibility of unlocking to 6970.

Then a 6870 should max it out for 190ish at newegg. That's the highest you can go without entering the 69xx series line of gpus. You could but nvidia, but i am not updated with the 5xx GTX series

How would this compare with my 6850?

Im kind of leaning towards Nvidia just because ATI has been such a headache..

560 ti is a great bang for your buck card, make sure its not the 560 sans ti by the way.

After that you got 6950, 6970, then 580. Make your pick, in your price range you could end up with a 560 ti or 6950 though. Good luck.

250 with rebate + free shipping

not a reference card, and cannot be unlocked, but the performance of 6950s are still very very good, clocks 900+ with ease

the 6950 2gb cards should be fine with bf3, besides, if bf3 is anything like bfbc2 which was very cpu intensive, you'd want to overclock your 965 (if you haven't already done so) close to the 4ghz end rather than hanging at the 3ghz end if you want to squeeze every drop of performance fromthe 6950
