Are all my parts working?

Hey everyone,
I just moved to another country and so my PC got transported, and just to check (because I could have any broken part replaced for free) I want to check if all (and really ALL) my PC components are working completely fine and did not take any damage. Is there a way to check that?
Thanks in Advance,
Marius

I would just give it a good visual inspection, test all the ports, then run stress tests for the core components: Prime95, Memtest, and FurMark.

If it passes all this, I'd say it's in good shape.

Just my 2c worth, hope it helps,

Rich

I did take the GPU and RAM off to have a clear look at them and the Mobo. Of course I left the CPU on. I didn't see anything unusual. As for your stress tests: Can I still - I don't know - play games or work on my computer during stress tests?
This also goes for overclocking now: You are supposed to run stress tests to test the stability of the system. Can I play games during the stress tests, or do I have to leave my PC alone for 1 hour everytime?

Well, I suppose you could use the computer while testing, even though I think all the tests tell you to close everything else out. The idea behind the stress tests is to max out whatever component your testing and push it hard to see if it's stable. If you're running anything else, I would expect there to be very slow performance.

You also need to run your tests for more than one hour. I know most folks recommend a minimum 24 hours run on Prime95 blend to be sure. I have heard of failures into the 15-18th hour of Prime. You could start the test before you go to sleep and let it run through the night.

Is there any reason you might have to believe that your PC was damaged during the move? I would say if it was packed well, and there were no incidents, that a visual and basic test of all functions would be adequate.

Hope this helps,

Rich

Just use it...if something doesn't work, then troubleshoot it.

I don't think that it is necessary to stress test for 24 hours. I mean, even if theres a crash after 15 hours, no one in real life uses their PC to the limit, like the stress test does, for 15 hours straight. Well, at least I wouldn't
