Another H100 Thread? GASP!

So, I'm thinking about getting the corsair h100 when it really becomes available in the US, and was wondering what people's thoughts were about it relative to corsair's other self-contained watercoolers.

My thought is it should help maintain lower temps as one overclocks. MY logic is that compared to the h80, the h100 should be pushing twice as much air over the same surface area (rads of120mm^2*50mm and 240*120*25 respectively). this also assumes the same fan config (i.e. push/pull, push, pull) is used on both.

Now, I know in the real world, it wont be a 2x gain or anything crazy like that, but i'm still wondering what thoughts people have on this?

The H100 is about 2C better, out of the box, than the H80, with a 200W load and the same fans.

That number goes up if you add two fans on the other side for push-pull. One of the nice side benefits is that out of the box, it's a bit quieter with the same fans since there's no harmonic distortion of push-pull.

Should be in some stores by this week.

I have the H80, which runs only 2 degrees warmer than the H100. My i5 is nice and chilly. Should have a proper temp breakdown up in a day or two.

i think this post validates what i'm saying.

basically, i think the h70/h80 is like setup 8 or 9, and the h100 should be like setup 1

so, if i understand correctly, the two of you (who i presume have review units?) would verify that, while not HUGE, there is an improvement with the h100?

I have the H80, and the graph on the box shows that the H100 runs 2c cooler than the H80. However, this is at stock configuration if I'm not mistaken, which means H80 in push-pull and the H100 with just the two stock 120mm fans. I'm sure the H100 with four fans for push-pull would be better.

Im looking to retire my venerable H50 when the H100 arrives.

The big decision will be "where to put it" and which part of my case to I mod

Hm. I would assume replacing stock fans with something like gently typhoons or yate loons would increase performance further? I haven't bothered doing a specific search yet but from what I remember reading around, that seems to be the case on the other H-series coolers, and I would assume that it's applicable to this as well.

The fans on the H80 are new custom-made ones from Corsair. Very high quality, comparable to the Gentle Typhoons. Don't really need to swap 'em. (the H100 probably has the same ones)

So it would be alright to use the two corsair fans and two gentle typhoons for 4 fan push-pull? Or instead of mixing and matching just get 4 gentle typhoons?
