Glad I did not did not order any bleed kits. I bet this boils to poor plating process.

If I were to guess it looks like copper is being deposited on the outside of the pipe from somewhere else based on his assertion that it can be scraped off revealing the original finish. You don't suppose there's an electric current running through his loop?

I wonder what his blocks look like. There have been a few post on other sites about this issue, and it seems to only be happening to the pipe. This would not be an issue, but Koolance has been notorious for providing steel plugs in the past. I also wonder if the OP had a piece silver come in contact with the pipe.
