Help needed to eject a disc from Optical drive w/ no eject button - Page 3

Thanks to all responses so far. Few points to clarify:
It's a slot in drive made for notebook type where there is no tray nor eject button. It doesn't even have a bezel. It's a bare drive that I bought for my FT03 case. As I mentioned earlier, I have already tried 'poking' into those holes in front but no luck so far. I have a feeling that given this drive does NOT have a tray, there might NOT be a mechanical emergency eject button... :-(

So try my recommendation. You boot into Ubuntu, right-click the drive, hit 'eject'.

Read the thread much? OP mentioned in the first post that there is no operating system installed on the machine.

Use the emergency eject hole.

No one reads anymore. It's a slot drive, so there doesn't seem to be a hole like on regular drives.

a slot-load drive needs to be powered to eject the disc - you will need to power the drive up for it to work.

Thanks to all for their enthusiastic responses. Internets, I shall definitely take a look at this ubuntu. However, I've managed to resolve that in a slightly quicker way. Anybody care to take a guess? Let's get some fun out of this. It's not the original 'alternative' I have stated in my original post! :-)
