Anyway PCIE3 isn't essential, its just a nice bonus and removes any chance of bandwidth bottlenecking for next gen GPUs, SSDs. The end of Q1 2012 will be a good time for a fully next gen build, particularly on the X79 chipset.

We today barely max out a PCIe2.0x8 rail with GPUs. It is quite unlikely that GPUs 2 generations from now will max a 2.0x16 The only reason a 3.0 speed boost is desirable is for things like USB3 PCIe expansion cards.

I don't see where the complaint lies. There is no reason for products being produced after PCIE3 spec not to be PCIE3 compliant. Its known not to be currently necessary, at least GPU wise.

wonder how much a amd 965 overclocked to 3.8ghz is bottlenecked by 2x 7950.

Hopefuly there is a AM3 cpu that handles 2 7950 so I don't need to change my M4A79t mobo

Create a thread in the GPU section rather than reviving a year old news thread

As I stated before, post this in a correct GPU thread, not in a year old news thread, and you'll get advice
