To each their own, some people want color accuracy and size. I personally prefer 120hz and no more than 23-24".
Huh. Well you're the first one that I've ever heard say that they didn't like gaming on a 30" .

Oh yeah, and the idea for 3x portrait came from here:

meh, a 30" is like a cheaper, smaller way to run portrait. You can't run 3 monitors on one 480 and still get nice frames

You can't run them anyway.

I play BF:BC2 and the level of detail now seen is sooo good, I have no problems or whatsoever while playing or looking at the entire map, I highly recomend the 2560x1600 if you're able to afford one.
I haven't found too many people that own the HP. Do you see any noticeable motion blur in BC2, or any other applications or movies?

I use a 28" and came from a 22" a few years back. Still love it. Id say go with the 30", they are nice and would be easier to run with your gpu than the triple monitors.

If you cant see everything on the screen with ease then obviously you were sitting too close, lol.

Both options make great setups. If gaming is your only concern then I think a CRT like an FW900 would be the best choice, but between these two I think you should make the decision for yourself. It's not really a question of which setup is better, just which you'd prefer.

One thing you can do, if you want to try before you buy, is find some cheap-o LCDs on craigslist (I've picked some up as cheap as $10 before) and run eyefinity with them for a week or two to see if you really enjoy it. If you feel that it's worth spending $1000 to get the same setup on better monitors, then go with the U2410s. If not, go with the U3011.

both are sick regardless. but the 3 monitor set up will need sli ,so factor in another 480 [or while your blowing $$$ upgrade to 2 580's ]. I personally would go with 3 monitors. I like having a monitor for temps/clocks/etc, plus u can watch TV on the third while gaming aha. My 2 cents

Gaming or full screen video? Get the 30 and don't think twice.

Anything else get the triple monitor setup.

Manyak said it. Both have their ups and downs. I personally would go with a 30"er, since it'd be cheaper there, and it wouldn't have the bezels. And it'd be more comfortable for desktop work. And I'd prefer the smaller size. And be easier to run.

But then again, 3x U2410 wouldn't be a bad choice either. It'd end up looking better because of the higher resolution, it'd be the size of a 42" TV but wider. Immersion is through the roof here.
