Xonar DG or X-Fi Xtreme Audio?

Thread Starter
Right now I have this sound card: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-SB0790-Blaster-Xtreme/dp/B000IZC0GO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310992544&sr=8-1"]Amazon.com: Creative Labs SB0790 PCI Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound Card: Electronics[/ame]

Should I sell this one and get a Xonar DG?

The reason I am asking is since my AD700's will arrive in a couple of days, and I need to know which one is better solely for gaming.

I will refer you to this very helpful thread:

Based on the thread above try and get the X-Fi Titanium HD, it's the best choice for gaming!

sure thing , the DG is better cause it has a built-in headphone AMP and it has more stable drivers

but as for overall audio performance don't expect very much improvement

but be careful its PCI , if you did CF/SLI in the future you might be out of PCI slots so put that in yo mind

why would SLI/CFing make him out of PCI slots?
graphic cards use a PCIe (x16), not PCI. unless what you meant is that the card itself will cover the PCI slots... CMIIW

PS: vote for xonar DG, but you should try to get an xtrememusic/gamer. i think the price different is not too much

A lot of boards get PCI slots covered by GPUs, especially in Crossfire and SLI configs. Personally, I have a free PCI slot with just one GPU, but putting a sound card there would have it right in front of the graphic card's intake fans.. not fun.
Whereas most modern mobos have some PCI-E x1 ports lying around in the middle of nowhere.

X-Fi Xtreme Audio is nothing more then a modded sound blaster live 24bit/audigy

don't worry about CL's drivers there fine

Please, stop. You love the drivers, that doesn't mean you need to post this in every thread. At least stick to your own.
