Thread Starter
I already have a Deathadder which I am using with my desktop, but I just got a new gaming laptop so I will be ordering a second mouse as well (Logitech G500). The Deathadder has served me well in the 10 months I have owned it, but the G500 looks like a pretty cool mouse as well.

I will only be using my gaming laptop on vacation, but one of thesemice will go permanently with my laptop everywhere I go. However, I use my desktop like 98% of the time.

Which mouse should be the main mouse I use (desktop), and which one should I use as a back up (with my laptop)?

If it matters, I am a palm grip user, and I use the side mouse buttons extremely often in games and while browsing.

No point in using two totally different mice for gaming. It's all about continuity when it comes to gaming. If you find your deathadder to be as good as you need your mouse to be, then by all means buy another one for your laptop.

G500 has a lower lift off distance then deathadder, but its sensor has acceleration.

I would say DA:Black Edition, i didnt like the g500 sensor position or scroll wheel, take a look at those differences, also i think the avago 9500 has positive accel. but its slight and it didnt bother me on any of my avago9500 mice ive had. Anyways, good luck.

DeathAdder Black edition:
+Plam grip mouse, but can somehow be grip as well with claw.
+Flawlessy sensor.
-Too mushy clicks cause the mixing with the mushy plastics and the average switchs of the mouse. ?
-LoD is very high, can be fixed by tape the lens of the sensor, tapping the whole hole may cause to lower mal. speed and perfect control, be aware also not to pull out the sensor sticker beacause it will mess the hell out of the tracking.
-Heavyness of 110G - Above average.
-Bottom draging on surfaces beacause of the thin teflon feets - can be fixed by doubled up the feets.
-The most crappy marketing CS [Customer Support] in the market.

G500:
+More ergonomic for Plam grip users.
+better metrials.
+More customize things in the driver.
+Logitech got the best CS [Customer Support] in the market.
-Sensor placed above the center.
-Sensor have build in positive accelration, and drastically low mal. speed on cloth surfaces.
-Heavyness of 120g without weights - alot heavy than average.
-Sensitive sensor to dust, hair and etc..and its cpi values doesn't feels the same as optical/flawlessly sensors.

If you like the DeathAdder, there is no point getting used to a different mouse.
You will have to keep getting used to it every time you would switch.
Been using/loving my DA for about 4 years now.
