Haf X vs Haf 932 Advanced--w.r.t to noise

Thread Starter
I am really torn between the Haf X and the Haf 932 Advanced.

Price is not an issue.

I like where the USB 3.0 port is on the Haf X and the dust filters and all that so the Haf X gets the nod in many departments.

The Haf 932 Advanced allows many of the large fans to be swapped out with 120mm combinations...which to me means that if that the large fans are noisy I could replace them with quieter (better quality 120mm) fans.

My cooling needs are not that high. I just want a full tower. I am going to run Sandy Bridge i7 overclocked and will go with a NH-D14. My video card is a GTX 260 for Photoshop and I do not do any gaming. But one day I might have two video cards inside to perhaps support two very high quality and demanding monitors.

The question I guess is: Are the large 230mm and 200mm fans in the Haf X fairly quiet for me to not to worry about losing the option to replace with 120mm fans (that one can do in the Haf 932 Adv)? I would not necessarily replace with 4 120mm fans. I might just downscale from 230mm to a single 120 since my cooling needs are not that tough.

Any advice is appreciated. Another option is to go with the Antec p183v3 but the NH-D14 is going to be a tight fit and it is not full tower.

Thanks!

Welcome to ocn

Get the haf X hands down.

The airflow is really good,

The fans that come with the case are pretty good in all honesty.

The other alt is the NZXT Phantom

The large 230mm/200mm fans are quiet but barely move any air. Still I'm sure the airflow will be adequate for you. Don't even bother with Antec cases, just about every single one of them is junk and none are worth the price they ask. Personally I'd go for a Silverstone Raven RV03 - keep the fans on low and it will be very quiet and most likely cool better than any HAF.

my haf-x is about 1 foot away from me and I cann't say the fan noise is distracting in anyway, if I'm concentrating in maya or photoshop I don't even hear my mrs so fans don't stand a chance

I chose the Haf 932 Black Editon. (Baiscially what the advanced replaced) over the Hafx to replace my oringal Haf 932. Becuase I liked the side panel and hafx styling seems a little bit much for my tastse.

the 200mm fans run at 700-800rpm so they run pretty quiet. really cant go wrong with either case, so if you like the x better then i say go for it
