Shortage of high end GPUs - Page 2

EVGA has some 590s in stock on their online store.
Here in Prague it's quite difficult to find anything above a 6950 on the AMD side. I'm trying to get hold of an EVGA GTX580 3GB, but no delivery dates are available.

The Zotac GTX590 is available though.

But it's not always an option if you don't have a mobo with enough space between the cards. Hell I can't really OC my 580s because of heat from being sandwiched where I believe a card such as a 6990 wouldn't have as much trouble, we already know how well the 590s OC. :/
He is already running crossfire'd 6870s, so space shouldn't be a big problem.

Yeah ive considered two 580s but like blackbalt said ive got cooling issues having two cards sandwiched together so close, my 6870s are cooking thats why I want to try one big dual card and Ive had issues with my Sapphire cards thats why I dont want to go Sapphire again. Can you blame me for wanting ASUS theyre awesome.

To be honest I've got two 580s sandwiched together and the only time temps really get out of hand is when I'm benching @ 900MHz and let's face it, I don't need much more power than stock so I don't bother.

The Witcher 2 with Vsync I rarely see over 72 on the top card and the bottom is 11*C cooler at stock clocks.

Now Metro 2033 is around 5-7C hotter at stock clocks still under 80*C though which is acceptable.

Keep in mind this is with a fan profile that ramps up one % for every degree C the GPU heats up. So in Metro it's not uncommon to see 78% fans.

This is in a HAF 932 with 2 AP-14s on the side panel caddy cornered, a AP-14 as intake on the bottom of the case blowing into the bottom card and a Scythe S-Flex E zip tied to the hard drive cage to blow air to the top card.

Without a capable case and airflow setup it's entirely possible to see 15+C between the top and bottom cards.

For reference my ambient is anywhere from 23-27C depending on how long I play.
