You're mentality is that of the RIAA, MPAA, and other hardnosed organizations that only seek to make more money than is reasonable.

The industry doesn't hurt because of used game sales. They already made a large amount during the initial sale of the game. This is called greed.
Did I ever imply that used dvd sales and used cd sales don't hurt those industries as well?

You didn't have to. Entertainment is entertainment, be it a movie, music, a video game. Someone somewhere bought the original, and sold it. If another someone was to purchase it, by what you're saying, because it "hurts the industry", we should be paying a fee to the original OEM/MFG because it helps the industry.

It doesn't. These game companies already made their money from the orginal sale, they don't need any more. It's not like they're brick and mortar shops that deal in used games.

The only thing hurting the industry is poor development, poor quality games, and arguably piracy, which to every reasonable report out there, doesn't hurt the industries as much as the industries say.

Just in case you guys haven't noticed: Used games hurt the industry. I think this is a somewhat bad way to go about combating used sales, but stop acting like it's not justifiable.

I personally think that developers should try to give incentive for new purchases without having to charge us for locked content, but is this really that bad?

in my opinion, no not really. The used copy would probably end up costing around the same as a new one, or maybe a few dollars less.

Sorry, but the Games industry is over 40 years old and found it's rise to power via the cartridge system. In other words, Gaming cut its teeth alongside preowned sales. This is nothing but a money grab at revenue that doesn't belong to them. If they want to claw back some revenue from preowned sales, publishers (not developers. That was how I knew you didn't know your butt form your elbow) need to open their own preowned stores or buyout existing ones. Adding this to games alienates CUSTOMERS and FANS. Both of which you need if you wish to continue making money.

Honestly, you can

The funny thing is, they don't think people who buy used are their customers. Those are gamestop or [your local used game dealer]'s customers.

Ah well, doesn't affect me, I buy new.

Just wait until the game is $5 on sale. No need to buy a nerfed game for full price/used.

No thanks. Ubisoft is trying to beat EA at their own game it seems.

Assassin's Creeds are like 20/10 games imo. I couldn't imagine giving it a lower score for being possibly one of the most exciting and solid video game franchises in awhile.

eh, they always felt generic to me. I'd rather give the new batman games that attention.

You shouldn't buy any used houses because it hurts the construction industry.

You shouldn't buy any used cars because it hurts the car manufacturers.

You shouldn't sell any of your old computer equipment because you're taking away from profits that the companies could get.

Yeah...don't think so.
