[Gamerant.com] Rumor: Mass Effect 4 in early development - Page 3

ME1 was a story on shepard while ME2 was a story on teammates (Tali's treason trial,Garrus's failure as team leader, so on so forth) as for 3 this may be a combination of both back story of shepard and the teammates specially when they have Kaidan/Ashley coming back in the mix of things unlike ME2 where they showed up on Horizon and talked alittle that was it.

4 could be any number of possibilities hell they could base it on Tali and the Migrant Fleet prolly given that in ME storyline/universe the quarians been at war with geth for 300+ years making a possibly good story on how that became after ME3 and how Legion may fit into all of it aswell just like he fits into ME2 and ME3.

could also take place 100 years after 3 where humanity and Council races grew impatient with one another and it exploded into all out chaos so to speak. just so much can go on after 3 im curious tho on what they'll do for 4.

i think when it comes down to it we'll have to see how ME3 playsout before speculation on how 4 will be, by then we could prolly get a few idea's on how 4 may play out
ME1 and ME2 played out as they should, in ME1 destroyed several Cerberus Bases which led liara to know about cerberus which in 2 years shepard gets rebuilt by the very organization he/she destroyed part of in ME1 aswell the introduction of the shadow broker in ME1 then it took place in ME2, bioware does give hints in terms of whats to come in the next game now question is what hints will ME3 have for ME4. we'll have to stay tuned to find out i guess

I was just thinking earlier today that a MMORPG set in the mass effect universe would be awesome. There is already so much lore built into the mass effect series that it could support a "World of Mass Effect" so to speak...

I really enjoy future themed games and space games more than fantasy games. I'm really hoping that Blizzard's next gen MMO is a space themed game like some rumors say it is.

I certainly hope not. I started my first playthrough of ME2 on hardcore and bumped it up to insanity... I feel it is too easy as it is. Or maybe adepts are just overpowered. I haven't really played much of any other class. The crowd control abilities of the adept make it easy to incapacitate other enemies while you deal with them 1 at a time. I love trapping enemies and then dispatching them with a well placed headshot.

I recently started playing ME1 because I want to import a character into ME2 and I'm disappointed that it only lets me play at veteran difficulty for my first time through.

The only times I ever die are when I am just being way too aggressive. I guess your average player just likes to run and gun and doesn't use any cover or tactics.

I think they should stop using commander shepard after ME3. However there are so many other races and so many elements to the story line that many spin off games could be made. I'd love to play as a Krogan.

I don't want this ending up like Halo. "Finish the fight.. and then fight for five more games."

Mass Effect was an all around incredible game, my second-favorite BioWare title. Mass Effect 2 was terrible in the story department, though the characters were absolutely fantastic.

I'm trying to keep an open mind for Mass Effect 3, but when they show us an on-rails shooting section at E3 and offer James Vega, whose sole purpose looks to be to rip people away from Call of Duty/FPS flavor of the week, I get a bit concerned. He's there for new players? Who jumps into a trilogy starting with the very last game?
Just as with Halo, I don't mind this as long as it's a new plot, but in the same universe. Mass Effect, like Halo, has a rich, detailed and interesting universe, and there is no reason not to use that for more games. That said, if they try and push the existing story on, it'll just be a poor cash-grab, and no one wants that.

They never said that no more Halo games would be made, by the way, they said Bungie were done making them, and the plot of the main games was done.

in ME1 it's to easy to get Infinite Ammo (no cheating required) get 2x Frictionless X and Inferno Ammo and your golden on assault rifles regaurdless of targets there may be.

Shotgun requires 1x Frictionless X

Sniper Rifle requires 2x Frictionless X

you get the jist of it XD

as for Armor, get 2x Kinetic Exoskeleton X's that'll give ya 70% Shield Recovery Rate, +100 Shields, and 52% Mobile Accuracy combined practically makes you a tank specially if equipted on Heavy Armors, Medium armors have the same effect tho Light armors still lack the protection from sniper rifles but it will help them stay in the game if they got a few seconds to spare which will give there shields a second or 2 to regen

that is how easy it is to me, even survived colossus fire in a ground battle without the Mako aswell thresher Maws to =D and survived(barely but enough to make use of the armor upgrade)

I don't have a good feeling about this... It was supposed to end with this third one coming up. Hopefully bioware learned from what happened with dragon age 2, and improve. Otherwise it's all downhill from here.

I am by no means a big Halo fan, though the original trilogy wasn't bad. ODST looked somewhat awful and I liked Reach for moving away from Master Chief. However, 343 Industries picks it up and going by the E3 trailer, the next three games will be a continuation of Master Chief.

Not too thrilled about that to be honest. If it was a different protagonist I'd probably have a slightly different opinion. I don't really wanna see Shepard after Mass Effect 3.

I fight colossus all the time on foot. They are so easy. Just keep your distance and constantly strafe sideways and those slow ass missiles don't have a chance of hitting you. My team mates always get killed by them though...

the mass effect universe is pretty good and vast as well. i dont see why they cant just reuse the backstory/history and make a new game out of it without using commander shepard as the playable character.

I hope that's not the case. MC was a good character, and there was a lot of good plot there - but the universe around Halo really is very varied and deep - there is no reason to keep going on a plotline which has been done. Move onto something new.
