ATI Radeon HD 5770 Help

Thread Starter
Hello, lately i've been thinking of doing a few things to my computer and one of those things is switching out some air cooling systems and replacing them with air cooling, i need some help finding a good liquid cooling kit for a ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card, if you need the part number i could get it off the graphics card to make sure that it fits that particular graphics card, some odd reason it's been hard to find another card that LOOKS identical so that i can crossfire the two, though i did find one, please let me know what you find and i appreciate your time and effort to help me out, thank you.

"reference design" means that it was the design of the board that AMD originally came up with. Some manufacturers will redisign the PCB (ie move the parts of the board around to different locations for better temps and overclocking). If it is a reference design, then it will be easier to find a water block for it, whereas if it is not, it will be VERY difficult to find a full cover waterblock. It would be helpful to give the manufacturer, date of purchase, a picture would be best. Usually only cards with custom coolers have a redesigned PCB, and are therefore "nonreference" Hope this helps mate!

I owned two of those cards and crossfired them. I looked into WC as an option for mine and found a couple of companies made waterblocks for them, but for the cost involved to track one of those down... you would be better off buying a new card. the block is going to cost you at least $70.00 dollars, not to mention fittings, tubing, and such. you could sell the card and take that $70 dollars you saved and get a 6000 series card that will cool better and crossfire better, in case you want to in the future.

in case you are wondering, the reference design cooler looks like this:

Switching out air cooling for air cooling? Typo I assume.

If your looking at watercooling and trying to use a ATI 5770, good luck. There was so many reference designs it seems, most companies stopped or don't make blocks due to too many variables and nothing to really know which card will fit what. I personally had two XFX 5770 cards and saw two different version numbers on the box while in the same store. IMO, you will need a universal GPU block for the 5770.

hmmm that is the diamond cheap version. I wouldn't even spend the money on water cooling it tbh.

what graphics card would you prefer to buy for playing crysis 2 full graphics with directx11 and tesselation package, i would like to use my crossfire kit i have, just need the right input on which graphics cards to get, i also don't want to have to worry about air cooling it because air can only go so far so i'm looking for something that can be liquid cooled, also, the case i have has liquid cooling to the CPU, but it also has 2 rubber perforated holes that would allow for more liquid cooling hoses, what are your inputs?
