The max i would spend on a vid card ever, unless it came with the option to make my PC dance with joy is prolly around $200 bucks, maybe max $225.

6870 is a solid bet, and they crossfire well in case you go that route.

if you want to go reference design (for WC in the future) which expels heat out the back of the case, but maybe a bit hotter and noiser (by a little)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150506 (165 after rebate plus Dirt 3)

if you want to go non reference cooler for lower card temps and less noise but a bit increased case temps (180 + shipping)

6870 is a good choice. I have two in crossfire and they work very well. Keep in mind, Crysis2 DX11 with high texture pack and Tessellation will hit a ATI card harder than a Nvidia card on Ultra settings. If you drop Tessellation to 4x setting in CCC though, it will perform very well with current drivers. This may improve later with newer drivers, but Crysis2 was Nvidia DX11 and Tess package optimized, so keep this in mind.

I dont know if they sell them anymore, but a reference 6950 would unlock to a 6970 and be easy to find a waterblock for..

ahh i see, yeah i'd love to have a crossfire, but then how would you liquid cool them? do you run a loop 1 unit or do you have a seperate unit for both of them, also, i'd like to have low GPU temps to keep the card from going bad with an overclock on the GPU, so i'd like to liquid cool that because keeping the temperature down is vital, if the card run's cooler tech. it should have better graphics performance and be a tad bit tougher to reach artifact with.

Install water block on the cards and run a single loop for both or include the CPU too. That's how all my systems are now. My I7 860 and two 6870s are watercooled on one loop with a XSPC RX360 kit, while my I7 960 is on a single loop with two 6990s (4 gpus) on two RX360 rads.

If you ran just two video cards alone on a waterloop, a RX or RS240 rad should work fine.

Sell your current 5770, purchase 2 reference 6790 cards and enjoy.

A pair of 6790s will trade blows with a GTX580 and trump a HD6970 in most comparisons. The massive memory bandwidth of the 6790 means it can crossfire with minimal scaling losses. It's almost as if it were made to be cross-fired.

@ezveedub

i see, i have a liquid cooling unit for my CPU, i'm not sure what exact model it is but i know that it's a corsair of some sort because the fans mounted to the radiator are corsair brand fans so i'd assume its some type of corsair build, so if i already have a Liquid Cooled CPU that i donnnn't really want to mess with because it looks pretty legit, what are my tubing options, and thank you for your input mdocod, very much appreciated, i'll have to look into that graphics card .
