Bad Company 2 oversniping - Page 2

that's the thing though, if you impose a hard limit on snipers how does one get good at sniping if the class is already booked up.

pub games should be free for anyone to play any class.

i have seen implementation of class occupancy limit and i think its fair, but if you dont like it just join another pub server.

The large maps like Heavy Metal and Harvest Day generally degrade into campfests and you get sniped whenever you step into the open.

BC2 is still my favorite shooter. Though I can't wait to see if BF3 brings back the emphasis on squadwork.
True and false...the bigger maps do lend themselves to sniping more, but I have found that you can own on maps like Heavy Metal in a tank or heli if you are decent.

I agree with the op though, sniping is much more prevalent than it used to be. I get pretty frustrated when my team is winning handily, then for some reason people start sniping and we lose because no one is capping points.

I will also say though, that I am a big believer in being able to play the game you payed for any way you want to. I am certainly guilty of spending a lot of time sniping just because it was fun, though it didn't help my team a lot at times.

It's just that the game is so cheap now that a lot of COD players are buying it now

In a serious note... I like being a sniper and I'm mostly decent and most of the time in the top kills and I love taking down other snipers that won't let my team advance in the map. As a sniper I tend to break wall of campers to make room for my team to take other bases or plant bombs. But, I do like switching back in forth to medic or even engineering if I feel like there is a lack of that. For example when I see a Helicopter massacring my team and nobody doing an effort to take it down, I switch to engineer and take it down.

Sadly most snipers just stay in one spot and wait for a kill every 5 mins or so. That's when having a lot of snipers sucks because they don't kill anything or just stay in one spot where nothing really happens.

People like to snipe. They payed for the game. They can play how they wish. Get over it! Or, rent your own server and set a limit.

Exactly.

People have a right to play however they want. It sucks too many people choose the sniper class at times but get over it. It's a game and it's supposed to be fun. Quit whining about losing or having a bad K/D rate and get in there and do whatever it takes to take a base.

I love to Rambo a lot, does that mean I should change how I like to play the game? No.

As another person said, get some friends together and form up. Stomp the yard and quit yer biotching.

agreed. i rush like an ASSAULT on the front lines, with my GOL and motion mines ready .

lots of the snipers are noobs, they'll be lucky to headshot you. especially if they don't know their role as a recon class.

if you hate the snipers on your team , oh well. find 3 friends and make a squad for your liking . if you hate the snipers on the other team, just knife them =] . spawn camp their squad and knife them all.

i've played with many ASSAULT class soldiers, and they sit AROUND on the objective, shooting at it without capping the OBJECTIVE. so what can you say about that ? lol

Too many snipers, so what? Communicate with the rest of your squad/team to take them out. Then capture the enemies base and hold your ground. Then snipers won't have a chance to get to their sniping posts and you are win. Keep doing this and all these snipers will think twice before selecting their recon kits.

One thing that drives me crazy though these days is the constant kill someone/they kill you at exactly the same time. I don't remember that happening so much early on., but it happens all the time now.

If you play with bolt-action in the front lines, you might want to consider the SV98 instead... larger clip, faster firing rate. There is more of a bullet drop but that doesn't matter for close range/no scoping.

Then there is the VSS for assault-style recon. It basically is an overpowered assualt rifle with a free scope. Each round does 25 dmg and fires 600RPM. For comparison, the XM8 only does 16.7 dmg and 750RPM. The disadvantage is a smaller clip but you die less at close range encounters.

Don't forget about the power of C4! Uber grenades. Great for throwing over walls and laying traps.
