i7 980X vs i7 2600K [Regardless of cost] - Page 6

Is it possible to overclock Q6700 on my mobo to beat 1090T?
if not does Asrock 870 Extreme 3 has enought power for 1090T?
and
is 3.0GHz a safe zone of OC for Q6700 on my mobo?

[I had a 555BE on that Asrock once but when I overclocked it to my surprise my HD5850 was blown up (Still don't know why) so how should I avoid that]

max OC on a Q6700 will probably not beat a 1090T at max OC
I would personally look for something AM3+ with more power phases
probably

how about a stock clock 1090T will 3.0GHz oc Q6700 get that?

What do you think about the 5850 burning? is there any reason?

The Q6600 is the closest CPU anand had in benches

according to anand they trade blows, however the X6 kills the Q6600 in gaming

there is nothing wrong with AMD in gaming they just arent as good as i7's and i5's
Finally someone brings up that link. For convenience, here is 980x vs 2600k.
So after some extensive googling about i7 980x vs i7 2600k, I have come across this thread, which is very recent in comparison to must of the other threads I've seen here, so I decided to post here instead of making a new thread, and I have a few questions, if anybody would like to answer them.

The main argument I see between these two processors is that the 2600k is better for gaming, but just how much better is it? Are we talking 5-10 FPS, or 30-40 FPS? Is there even an FPS difference at all?

I've been contemplating building my own rig, and was leaning towards the i7 980x, I won't be using it for main and upcoming games, but opening more than one instance of the same game(You guys might find this weird, but it's a common concept with this one, and the graphic requirements of this particular game are really low). The games typical memory usage ranges from 300k-600k. So would the i7 980x indeed be a better choice? Note: This isn't the only game I'll be playing, just the majority of the time. Price is not an issue for me either.

Finally, a question about SSD, this doesn't really need to be answered though as it kind of doesn't relate to the original topic, but if I put the game mentioned above on the SSD and launch it from the SSD, it will open and load faster in comparison to an HDD, correct?
