SLi or new gfx?

Thread Starter
I have an old gtx260(not core 216) in my desktop right now. I was wondering whether I would get more value buying another gtx 260 or upgrading and selling off gtx 260 and swapping in an gts 450 or gtx 550
post #2 of 12
Sell the 260, and grab a used 470 if you can

New card.

The GTX 550 is a horrible bang/buck, for about $140 you can get a GTX 460 which would be a great upgrade for you.

If you can find another very cheap 260, I'd go with that since it should be faster than a 470. If this is a long term investment, I would recommend stepping up to a DX11 card.

gtx 260 sli should be faster than what you listed. You can also get a gtx 260 for like 30-60 bucks off ebay. Should hold you off until the 6xx / 7xxx series and price drops on current gens
