This.

The Blizzard downloader usually only takes 1-2 hours though, so I'm not sure a torrent will be much/any better.

Buying it at Best Buy is the fastest way.

I'm not sure if you're joking, but no. If you buy it in retail box, you have to install the entire game, then install the expansions and patches which completely replace most of the game. This is probably the worst option.

also with blizzard new downloader you can play the game as it downloads once it hits a certain point in the download...usually the yellow arrow
gee, that is much more helpful than what i tell people who are thinking about playing WOW...

How do you figure? If you have nothing then you have to download each and every expansion.

If you buy all of the expacs then you would only have to download whatever patches have been released since cata... which isn't much.

I can go to Best Buy and be back in 45 mins. You aren't going to download all of the expacs that fast from Blizz.

I know there is a way to torrent that goes a lot faster...I read it on the forums. When you download it the regular way you are technically torrenting it. The software is just set to only torrent the wow files and nothing else.

I never did that for the big download though...this was just for all the patches

at least I think it was wow...might have been EQ2. worth a google

I finished the download this morning in about 20 minutes with 50 Mbps download speed so I think something on your end is being blocked/slowing it down.
