Mobo Died, Replacement Time! - Page 2

No testers...
We drove all around my town to my friends house to try and gather an extra mobo or power supply when it first happened.
Was gunna attempt to test everything before ordering anything.

None of my friends are as outdated as me when it comes to desktop
No Luck.

I'll check the fan right now.
EDIT: Just checked the fan, it is indeed spinning. Mobo still didn't beep and post, after letting it sit over night and all day! Gotta wait ~two months for five mins of time! lol It is extremely dusty, so I'm going to give it a good blowing out here tomm morning. Think dust could be a culprit?

If I'm to have no luck after giving it a good dusting out, I'll most likely be ordering my replacements. Sticking with what adzsask said. Intel i3, other stuff is sorta random and Shell Shocker.

Would these all work together, I'm pretty sure It all matches up! Double Checking.

Slightly better memory module in this mobo for like $4 more. It is ASUS but I have heard mixed reviews about MSI. I just bought the same ram in 2x4GB kit, haven't got it yet but I have heard it is very good. So looking good there. My friend had that same i3 he just bought an i5 quad and loves it, I might suggest that if it is in budget, it will definately give you more performance. I would give you a link, but I know very little about intel, just enough about specs.

Best of luck.

You could always go AMD again too. Get an AM3+ mobo. The new ASUS series is amazing, I think, but I watched the 45 minute vid on them. Get another quad, Phenom II x4 maybe? They are really strong, what are you looking at doing?

Not to much mad gaming! Possibly Some, but I got my Laptop to play on.
I plan to use it mostly to run a Minecraft Server, and a Terraria server.

Also, that MOBO is for ATI cards? I got a 9800GT already and planned to use it over again.

AMD Build that I tried working out.

new MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131646
new CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103808
new RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231275

I do like this build better then previous mainly because:
1) That mobo supports IDE harddrives! I got one that I would love to use.
2) Quad-Core
3) Cheaper by like 40$
4) RAM matches MOBO Color.. I had to change RAM cause 1600 is not supported.

YahYah?

EDIT: Bulldozer hitting market soon? Could wait it out, and get cpu cheap as dirt?

If you only plan on running one GPU make sure you get the 970 chipset.

And say what you want about asus, but I would buy gigabyte. For the price etc.

The prices should definately drop, as to how much I wouldn't know. They are set to come out Q3 of this year, so sometime in fall. I both the gigabyte and the asus board are almost identical besides the chipset. Don't get me wrong, I have a gigabyte board, not saying they are bad, I just want a crosshair formula sometime soon when I switch out my case...even though my current board is AM3+ compatible with a bios flash, but still. I'd say go for what you think will be the cheapest, and since you are using it as a server, if you can stand to wait I would assume all AM3 mobos and processors will see a price drop in fall as soon as bulldozer hits the market. I personally can't wait, maybe you could get a 1055t for real cheap, that would be awesome in a server I would think. I wish I had the extra money to buy the crosshair now because I would sell you my board. Haha
