UPS for Corsair 850HX

Thread Starter

Ok well I plan to buy a second GTX470 and I have been told that my Corsair 750TX is not enough to handle two of those (Or can it? I haven't asked here, I asked on the EVGA forums and they were all pretty convinced that the 750TX is a bad PSU and won't work for this - I will do ZERO overclocking)...

Back on the UPS topic.. So I am going to buy a Corsair 850HX... I need to get a new UPS to protect all this though and I was curious if

would be enough?

I don't know if either the 900w UPS would fluctuate down below its advertised power allotment or if the 850HX would fluctuate up above it's... So I didn't want to grab it and have my power go out and break the UPS and/or my computer or something...

Thanks for answers...

750TX will be enough especially if you aren't overclocking - check out this article by Phaedrus: http://www.overclock.net/power-suppl...alculator.html

Yes that 900w UPS will be fine Though you'll see that you won't use any where close to that 900w most of the time, but it will give you a bit of room to grow.

And it will work fine? No OC...?

Is there anything bad that could happen if it doesn't? Could the 750TX have worn down over time or something? It has been on more or less 100% of the time since March 20, 2010...

This is pretty important as not having to upgrade the PSU also means I don't have to upgrade my UPS which is potentially $300+ I am saving...

Can I ask why? That one is over $40 more, for less wattage, and is even made by the same company...?

Why that over the original one?
